Grounded in faith, serving with love

St. Paul Lutheran is called to be an inviting and welcoming Christ-centered and community-serving church where we are guided by love to implement Jesus’ teachings. We're a big-hearted congregation with a vibrant history.
St. Paul Lutheran Church is one of 133 congregations in the South-Central Wisconsin Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA).
Opportunities to join us in faith include our Sunday worship service, post-service coffee hour, Monthly Mission, weekly Soup Lunch for the neighborhood, Lydia’s Closet, Women's Bible Study, Ruth Circle, Men’s Breakfast, Older Wiser Lutheran Seniors meetups (OWLS), and more!

A welcome message from Pastor Amy

Let me introduce myself: I am Pastor Amy, the Bridge Pastor at St. Paul Lutheran.
St. Paul is led by the love of Jesus and growing in the Spirit. This looks like loving our neighbors, centering ourselves in Christ, and working to be a welcoming community of integrity. We’re real people, both sinners and saints at the same time as Martin Luther taught.
We believe that a Church is the people, not the building. Being a member of St. Paul means that you commit to living a life of faith alongside the congregation. This looks different for different people at different times of life.
We remember the Apostle Paul's words to the church in Corinth when he says, "There are different kinds of gifts but the same Spirit who gives them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God" (1 Corinthians 12: 4-6). We believe that each person has gifts given by God and those gifts can help God's mission to love the world.
We take our baptismal vows seriously. We worship the Lord in community. Yes, this means attending church on Sundays and also means taking part in the life of the church by serving on ministry teams or council and giving money to the church joyfully as we are able.
Our baptismal vows are not limited to Sundays or church life. We also live faithfully in the world. This means we are generous in our thoughts, words, and actions towards others; we care for God’s good creation; and, we strive for justice and peace in all the world.
Peace to all,Pastor Amy

St. Paul & Parroquia San José

For several years, St. Paul has shared building space with San José Parroquia, a local Hispanic ELCA-PCUSA ministry.
St. Paul and SJP have a constructive relationship and sometimes host joint services and coordinate events together.
"To be honest, it is one ministry. They are brothers and sisters in Christ that join with us on many occasions." --Former Interim Pastor Mike Rahlf

OUR MISSION

St. Paul Lutheran Church is called to be an inviting, Christ-centered, spiritually growing, and community-serving church where we are led by love to implement Jesus’ teachings.

A zeal to uplift our community

Our Lutheran church community is on a faith journey of love, service, and support. Together, we inspire and uplift through ministry and worship, embracing all age groups with the teachings of Jesus.

A resolute commitment to faith

At St. Paul Lutheran Church, we have been a beacon of hope and faith in southern Wisconsin since the early 1900s. Our calling is to provide strength for your faith journey, fostering a welcoming environment for all.

A spiritual foundation for tomorrow

While rooted in Lutheran tradition, we remain committed to embracing the ever-changing needs of today’s world. With a shared sense of purpose and trust in God’s guidance, we move forward together.

A fellowship to grow your faith and trust in God's plan

Living in God's grace

Our community is about imagining life together as we share our personal stories of faith, Lutheran heritage, and of a loving God who graces us with the gift of eternal life. Through these experiences, we grow stronger in faith and find purpose in serving others.

Ministry with purpose

We are home to ministries that are woven into the fabric of our lives in service to others through acts of justice and kindness, and ministries that provide care and nurturing for the health of our souls. We hope you’ll find the ministries here to be Spirit-led.

Come as you are

Our goal is to share the incredible news of God’s unconditional love, which accepts you just as you are—not as you should be. Wherever you are in your faith journey, we invite and encourage you to take it to the next level.

All are welcome

We recognize that navigating a life of faith looks different for everyone. Whether you're young, retired, or in-between, single or married, our desire is to be a source of strength and learn together what it is to be a child of God. You don’t need to be perfect; you don't even have to be Lutheran. We will walk the road of faith together.

Walking God's path

Our hope is that you will experience the St. Paul community as an authentic place where we're grounded in our faith and engaged in discerning where God may be leading us next. We look forward to meeting you face-to-face and heart-to-heart!
